Did you go away at all this summer? Even if you didn't, you'd be trendy for posting photos of your "travels" to social media. The trend is called "fakecationing" and is really simple to pull off. All you need is a large desktop display of a resort location, then you place two fingers in front of the photo to make it look like they are the tops of your legs and snap a close-up photo. Many people who post these photos are tagging them with the hashtag "#facay."
Let's face it, drinking plain, ol' water can be as boring as watching paint dry! But it does so much good for you...inside and out! So here are 13 fun ways to make drinking water...FUN and to make sure you're getting enough of the good stuff every day!
Do you think it's polite to use your cell phone in a restaurant? Apparently lots of people do, to the point where it's slowing down service. An anonymous manager at a busy New York City restaurant says that cell phones prevent customers from ordering as quickly as they used to. After comparing security footage from 2004 with current footage, the restauranteur claims that 10 years ago customers spent an average of one hour and five minutes at their table, but in 2014 the average time jumped to an hour and fifty-five minutes. The anonymous post on the Craigslist "rants & raves" board says that customers are so preoccupied taking photos, checking social media, and complaining about WiFi connections that take longer to order and to eat. The post end reads, "We are grateful for everyone who comes into our restaurant, after all, there are so many choices out there. But can you please be a bit more considerate?"
Hi there-WAY behind on my blog postings (sorry about that!) but I have a really, really, really good reason. Actually 11 really cute & furry reasons. 4 weeks ago, I adopted the sweetest dog ever, Honey, after she had been dumped at a Taco Bell. Turns out she was pregnant (sadly, probably why she was dumped) and 3 weeks ago, she gave birth to 11 of the cutest possible puppies EVER!! And I've had my hands full ever since. Honey has turned out to be a great mama dog & the puppies (who I have nicknamed "The Cinnamon Rolls") are healthy, strong and growing like gangbusters. Already have homes lined up so now my job is to keep them happy, healthy & get their shots, spay/neuter, etc... when the time is right. It's A LOT of work but I also know there are way worse things in life than a couple of months of puppies:)
And forget selfies, my phone is FULL of puppy pics and videos, which I will do my best to share with you (c'mon, who doesn't love looking at a cute puppy...)

Ellen is keeping busy with a new endeavor. The comedienne and talk show host announced on Tuesday (July 8th) that she is starting her own lifestyle brand called E.D. Look for the brand to kick off in the fall with a collection of tabletop products, candles, and bedding. There will also be a pajama and slipper set available. The full launch will happen in the Spring (2015) with home-and-garden items, clothing and accessories for men and women, and pet products. Ellen added, "I don't want to be specific because I don't want people stealing my ideas." The 56-year-old addressed pricing saying, "My goal is that people can have a beautiful house, a really comfortable house, without only being able to afford very expensive things." The clothing prices will be midlevel. The new project will be a collaboration between Ellen and J. Christopher Burch, of Tory Burch fame. She discussed the brand with Women's Wear Daily saying, "I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't want it to be the biggest brand name that you can imagine. I'm not trying to launch a little boutique situation."
