Some good news for Ameica! A new survey out yesterday showed a big increase in recent months in the number of companies considering bringing production back to the U.S. from China, CNNMoney.com reports. Boston Consulting Group said its survey found most large American companies now plan to move some production to the U.S. or are actively considering doing so. The number of firms that have shifted manufacturing back to America or will do so in the next two years has nearly doubled over the past 18 months. The survey found the main drivers of the trend are labor costs, product quality, and a desire to be closer to customers. Lower energy prices and declining labor costs have made America a cheaper place to manufacture goods, while China is seeing rising wage costs and an impending labor shortage.
