Fourth Sexual Assault Attempt In A Week

In addition to two attempted sexual assaults last weekend, Gainesville & University Police are now investigating a 4th that happened early Friday (9/5) morning in the library west section of UF. This follows a 3rd attack, reported Thursday morning (9/4) just after 2am on NE 15th Street in Gainesville. The first attack was reported on Saturday (8/30) at 9:20pm. with the suspect attacked a 21-year-old woman on the 1800 block of NW Second Avenue. Five hours later, about 2am on Sunday (8/31), a man fitting the description from the earlier attack emerged and pulled a woman into a patch of bushes near the 400 block of NW 13th Street. In all 4 incidents, the description of the suspect is the same: heavyset white man in early 20s; 6 feet 5 inches tall, with close-cut brown hair and a tightly cropped beard. most recently, the man was wearing an orange shirt and blue cargo shorts.
