Sometimes, Nostalgia Stinks
The Metrodome in Minneapolis was the home of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins for years. It’s being torn down to make way for a new stadium, which will host the Super Bowl in 2018.
As part of the demolition process, pieces of the Metrodome have been put on the auction block. One of the hottest items: a urinal trough.
For the ladies who (luckily) have never seen one, they’re stainless steel tubs, 8 to 12 feet long, with drains on other side that men use to relieve themselves.
The auction house suggested they’d be perfect for livestock feeders or beverage coolers.
Livestock feeders, maybe. Horses, pigs and cattle really don’t care what their dinner plates look like.
But beverage coolers? Imagine going to a buddy’s house and realizing you and thousands of other men peed into the bucket from which he’s fishing your next frosty brew.
You know what? Suddenly, I’m not so thirsty.
