Tim Tebow is embarking on a TV career. The Heisman Trophy winner has been hired by the new SEC Network as a college football analyst on the pregame show SEC Nation. In announcing the new gig, Tebow and the network noted that the job does not preclude a return to the NFL.
ESPN, which runs the network, specified that the multiyear deal "will not preclude him from continuing to pursue playing opportunities in the NFL." Tebow has been without a team since he was cut by the Patriots in August.
Tebow said of his new job, "While I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC.". Tebow will make his debut during pregame coverage of the BCS championship on January 6.
