Foods That Favor A Good Night's Sleep

Another night of tossing and turning? Experts say you could improve your chances of getting a decent night's shut-eye by eating the right foods. Specifically foods rich in magnesium, such as spinach, pumpkin seeds and almonds calms nerves and relaxes muscles which should be helpful in keeping a sleep.  Another essential food for sleep is tryptophan, found oat bran, beans and yes, turkey.  However there is more of the amino acid that causes your body to release serotonin in Parmesan, Cheddar, Mozzarella & Romano cheeses than our festive fowl. Bananas are a great source of potassium, vitamin B and even tryptophan.  Stay away from spicy and fatty foods before bedtime as well as caffeine and alcohol which can irritate our digestive system, prevent deep sleep or simply take a long time to digest.
