Perfect Girl Scout Cookies And Wine Pairings

February 7, 2018

It's Girl Scout cookie time!  And while you may find sanctuary in dunking your cookies in milk or just eating dry, we've found a wine pairing list that compliments each cookie.  Enjoy Thin Mints with a glass of Brunello.  The dry Italian wine with hints of oak and vanilla compliment the mint and chocolate of the cookies.  Caramel deLites a.k.a Samoas will taste even better with an aged Rioja wine from Spain. The fruity flavor works well with the coconut and caramel of the cookies. Peanut Butter Patties or Tagalongs pair nicely with a rich red Amarone wine from Italy. Add a glass of Riesling to a few Trefoils cookies.  The buttery taste of the shortbread blends beautifully with the sugary sweetness of the white wine. Do-si-dos are begging to be followed with a sip of a California Zinfandel. The combo will taste like your favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Lemony Savannah Smiles gleam with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Finally for the gluten free crowd, pair a Trio with a nice bottle of Washington State Syrah.  The peanut butter oatmeal definitely compliments the Syrah.
