Team Norway Chefs Make An EGG-normous Mistake!

February 8, 2018

The 2018 Winter Olympics have started in Korea, where hundreds of athletes have arrived for compete for the gold. All those athletes are hungry which is why Norway sent along a team of chefs to PyeongChang, South Korea.  Upon arrival the chefs went shopping at a local grocery store in Korea.  Unfortunately for the cooks, none spoke Korean.  So the Norwegians consulted Google Translate to get the message across that they wanted to purchase 1,500 eggs. But somewhere in the scramble of binary code and algorithmic magic, an extra zero was added to the order. So you could only imagine the look of those chefs when 15,000 eggs arrived to their Olympic Village kitchens!  Fortunately the chefs were able to return the extra 13,500 eggs.  The 1,500 eggs split up between 109 athletes means each will have a baker's dozen of eggs to eat along with smoked salmon and hopefully a lot of sugar bread made for medal winners.
