Thief Returns Stolen Van To Funeral Home After Discovering A Body Inside
We spend millions of dollars to prevent thieves from stealing our cars. Business are not immune to car thefts either, not even a mortuary. 24-year old Bobby Joe Washington decided to steal a van from a mortuary in Riverside, California early Sunday morning. However he got more than he bargained for when he realized the van he stole included a dead body. Although fleeing with his prize, Washing made a u-turn and headed back to the funeral home. He ditched the van with the body and attempted to steal another one. By this time, a worker was aware of what was happening and was nearly run over by Washington while trying to stop the carjacking. Police were able to capture Washington and charged him with two counts of auto theft, one count of evading police and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. Fortunately he was not charged with stealing a dead body as police didn't believe he knew of the hitchhiker in the back.
