The Vampire Apps That Suck Your Battery Dry

August 14, 2017

It's a never-ending struggle to save energy so that your phone's battery doesn't die too soon.  Even worse, that message that you're reach the maximum of your data or that you don't have enough space for that awesome picture! We've got some tips for Android phone users you may not know about.  Yes, you know that shutting down apps will save the juice of your battery but did you know many apps automatically start up?  Avast Mobile Security reviewed over 3 million Android devices and have found the most performance-draining apps that run at start up, and in many cases, without your knowledge. Number one of the list affect Samsung phones (#1 user of Android platform).  The Samsung AllShare, the service that lets you connect all your Samsung devices, loves to drain your battery, followed by ChatON, Samsung Push Services, (which again, connects your Samsung devices with notifications on their activity) and a multitude of Google services that include Google TalkBack, Google Play Music, Google maps, Google Play Newsstand, Google Plus and hangouts. Many of these apps come pre-installed on Android devices and launch automatically when your phone is turned on. They then run in the background even when you aren't using them. So to save your battery, force the apps to close even if you haven't opened them. So when you boo up your phone, immediately turn off these apps and save your battery.  In the event you need them, like Google Maps, turn it on when you need it and shut if off them you are done. As with iPhones, Facebook is the biggest user of data and power of the apps installed by users.
